After Facebook acquired Little Eye Labs earlier this month, Google has followed suit and acquired an Indian startup called Impermiun, Times of India reports. This three year old startup with expertise in cyber security was founded by two Indians and has its offices in Bangalore and California.
Founded in 2010 by Vish Ramarao, Naveen Jamal and Mark Risher, Impermium develops services for websites that help identifying potential risks and dangers from harmful accounts. The company has more than 300,000 clients including some notable names like Tumblr, Pinterest, CNN, ESPN and Washington Post among others.
In a post titled “Impermium is Joining Google!” Risher wrote, “When we founded Impermium three years ago, our mission was to help rid the web of spam, fraud, and abuse. By joining Google, our team will merge with some of the best abuse fighters in the world. With our combined talents we’ll be able to further our mission and help make the Internet a safer place. We’re excited about the possibilities.”
Risher also went on to thank its investors including Accel Partners, AOL Ventures, Charles River Ventures and Data Collective among others.
Neither of the company has revealed how much the deal was worth...
